About the Guernsey Camerata

The Guernsey Camerata is Guernsey's own Chamber Orchestra and usually performs concerts in Spring and Autumn each year. The Spring Concert is always a child-friendly Sunday afternoon family concert; examples of past performances include: "Three Little Pigs", "The Selfish Giant" and "Peter and the Wolf".

The Camerata was formed in 1992 and comprises a mixture of professional and amateur musicians. We regularly bring in players and conductors from the UK, so the performances also provide a learning-experience for some of the more advanced younger players in the orchestra. Usually, students from the island who are attending music colleges or still at school perform a recital on the Saturday evening before the Spring concert as the "St James Youth Camerata"
